We'll be going on a mission trip to an area of Panama that has been cultivated by God through David and Lisa Carter.

Background:

David Carter and Lisa Lipford met at Freed-Hardeman College and began their mission and 30 yearlong teaching careers together. While working at Mt. Dora Christian Home and Bible School in Mt. Dora, Florida, they had a calling to go on the mission field abroad. They adventured to Nigeria, West Africa, for 3 ½ years and worked in the bush at Nigerian Christian Bible College in Ukpom, Abak. After Nigeria they went back to Mt. Dora and worked at the school. Their yearning for missions continued. In 2006, the Carter’s moved to Panama, Central America. Not knowing what the Lord had planned for them, they ended up serving in Panama until 2021. Their desire for teaching others about the love of Jesus and their love for the Panamanian people took them to the island of Contradora and then to Panama City. By 2009, they began planting churches in El Valle and in the Embera Puru village in Charges National Park. They also worked with surrounding churches and schools. They organized trips for mission minded churches from the states introducing them to Panama. In 2011, the Carter’s moved to El Valle where they lived until 2021. During this time, the Lord has added to the church and the ability for the Carter’s to speak Spanish fluently! When they left in 2021, both churches were left with strong leadership. Since they have returned to the states, they have continued their work in both places by organizing group mission trips and meeting with the churches via zoom. Their love for the Lord’s work has led them on many adventures and impacted hundreds of people’s lives. And, yes, they are saints!

Tentative schedule:

o Leave Nashville Arrive Panama City, C.A.

o Spend the night in a hotel in Panama City.

· Saturday 7/8/2023

o Leave Panama City per van Arrive El Valle.

o Get settled in El Valle

· Sunday 7/9/2023

o Sunday morning teach classes at the church and/or VBS.

o Afternoon go to another congregation- new church plant and do the same classes and VBS.

· Monday-Tuesday 7/10-11/2023:

o Work in the village with families in need.
Build, repair, TBA closer to the time so we can be prepared.

o There will also be evening classes (TBA).

· Wednesday 7/12/2023

o Leave El Valle, head toward Panama City but branch off and go to the Embera Puru Village per canoe.

o Slee[ om village in hammocks and do the same classes and VBS.

· Thursday 7/13/2023

o Leave Embera Village to Panama City.

o Stay in a hotel in Panama City

· Friday 7/14/2023

o Site see Panama City

o Spend the night again in Panama City.

· Saturday 7/15/2023

o Leave Panama City to Nashville
